Trailer #  1  The 1971 Overlander 26 ft. model Airstream Eco Earthyacht

This was our first  Airstream we remodeled for public education use. It started as a bare shell, near derelict, and was renovated over a 4 month period  Recycled polyisceriuate insulation panel pieces were installed  in the walls and ceiling , raising the insulation r value up to R 12 aprox . We reinstalled the meal interior lining and skinned the entire interior in birch finish plywood. The trim was custom cut and fitted, piece by piece from the Plyboo bamboo T&G flooring stock we used for the floor. Bench seating over the wheel wells were built of birch plywood, trimmed out, and the T&G bamboo floor and trim was installed. 12 volt wiring was added, halogen marine  lights installed ,along with a Westphalia camper galley and a Sunmar composting toilet. A solar and wind turbine installation was set up. It included controller, battery bank and switch, and  roof mounted detachable Unisolar panels, and a  detachable Southwest wind power wind turbine which all are  still being  used 6 years later.
The trailer attended 20 public events by invitation, and was showcased in the S.F. chronicle article on Airstream trailers ,Laura Thomas, writer, April 15, 2003 It was on Tech T.V. late August and Thanksgiving  ,2003. Currently the trailer is undergoing renovations for returning to public use this summer.

Trailer # 2- The 1954 22 ft safari Airstream

This trailer was our second trailer we purchased, 9 years ago. It received an extensive renovation including restoring the existing structural floor and interior birch wood cabinetry, adding birch wainscotting, vg fir trim, T&G bamboo floors, new paint, and lighting . The remodeling project took 4 months. It first travelled on the road with us to Seattle back in 1999 for the Bumbershoot music festival. This Safari attended the UN World Environment Day, Health and Harmony Festival and Solfest in 2005. We used it on site in Sausalito as an office for the last 7 years, and today it is being detailed out again and will be for sale soon.

 Trailer # 3 -The 1958 22 ft Safari

This is our most recent Eco Earth Yacht Outreach demonstration trailer. Three years ago we renovated it from near derelict condition. After repairing floor dry rot and de molding it, we rebuilt the interior with an entire floor to ceiling Plyboo bamboo veneer plywood skin, also adding a bamboo floor and custom milled bamboo for all the interior trim. All the original cabinets were retained and skinned with Plyboo T&G bamboo. The bed-couch was rebuilt of Alaskan yellow cedar. The galley counter tops were resurfaced with recycled stainless steel.  We installed a Forbo natural marboleum for the bathroom floor and added a Sunmar composting toilet.  We repaired a vintage Viking on demand propane H2o heater already onboard. A new solar and wind turbine 12 volt electrical system is being installed as are the latest generation of LED lighting fixtures. The trailer will be outfitted by the late spring for public display and promotions use. We displayed for the first time last year at the Marin Home Show, the Solfest Festival, and at the Bioneers conference.
